Day 1 · Arrival in Beijing
Your flight arrives at Beijing Capital International Airport or Daxing International Airport. After a private transfer from the airport, you'll check into a quiet hotel in the city center. No sightseeing activities are scheduled for this day; the focus is on rest and adjusting to the time difference. An escort will meet you at the hotel in the evening to verify your identity, confirm the appointment time and procedure for your eye exam, and provide you with an instruction card in both Chinese and English.
Day 2 · Beijing
In the morning, visit Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum. Follow the Central Axis to tour the Hall of Supreme Harmony, the Hall of Central Harmony, and the Hall of Preserving Harmony in sequence. The white marble pedestals and golden glazed tiles of these three grand halls highlight the imperial grandeur, and the Qing Palace collections in the Treasure Hall and Clock and Watch Hall are also worth seeing. After exiting the Shenwu Gate, climb to the Wanchun Pavilion on Jingshan Hill to overlook the symmetrical layout of the entire Imperial City. Day 3 · Beijing (Eye Exam Accompaniment Day)
In the morning, visit the Temple of Heaven Park. Enter through the South Gate and tour the Circular Mound Altar, the Hall of Imperial Vault of Heaven, and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests in sequence—the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests' circular, triple-eaved pyramidal roof is one of Beijing's most iconic structures. The park is filled with towering ancient cypress trees, and in the morning, you can see local residents playing shuttlecock and practicing tai chi. Set aside three to four hours in the afternoon for an ophthalmology appointment at the International Medical Department of Beijing Tongren Hospital, accompanied by a medical assistant. The examination includes a vision test, intraocular pressure measurement, fundus photography, and refractive assessment. The assistant will provide full support throughout the process, including registration, translation, and retrieving test results. Afterward, if it's still early, you can head to Qianmen Street to ride a dangdang tram or visit Dashilan to buy traditional snacks like poria cookies and candied fruits from time-honored shops.
Day 4 · Beijing → Xi'an
In the morning, take the high-speed rail to Xi'an—a journey of about five hours. Upon arrival at Xi'an North Station, a private car will pick you up and take you to your hotel to check in. In the evening, take a walk to Hui Muslim Street, where the air is filled with the aroma of cumin and lamb. The crispy-skinned roujiamo and the rich, hearty lamb paomo soup—with tender, falling-apart lamb—offer the most authentic culinary experience Xi’an has to offer.
Day 5 · Xi'an
Spend the entire day visiting the Terracotta Army Museum. The array in Pit No. 1 is the most awe-inspiring, with thousands of life-size terracotta warriors arranged in military formations, each with a unique expression; Pit No. 2 features the most intricately crafted figures, including kneeling archers and mounted cavalry; Pit No. 3 is believed to have been the army's command center. We recommend renting an English audio guide to listen to the historical context as you walk. After returning to the city in the evening, take a stroll through the Great Tang Everbright City, where the lights of the Tang-style architectural complex are dazzling, and street performers and musicians entertain the crowds.
Day 6 · Xi'an
In the morning, rent a bicycle and cycle along the Xi'an City Wall. The top of the city wall is flat and open. Start at the South Gate (Yongning Gate) and ride eastward—the entire route is about 14 kilometers—to enjoy panoramic views of the old residential neighborhoods on the inner side and modern high-rises on the outer side. In the afternoon, visit the Shaanxi History Museum (tickets must be booked in advance). The museum's collection of Western Zhou Dynasty bronze ware, Han Dynasty roof tiles, and Tang Dynasty gold and silver artifacts is exceptionally valuable, with the treasures from the Hejia Village hoard being particularly stunning.
Day 7 · Xi'an → Chengdu
In the morning, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Daci'en Temple. The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built by Monk Xuanzang to preserve Buddhist scriptures; climbing the pagoda offers a panoramic view of southern Xi'an, while the murals inside the temple depict Xuanzang's journey to the West. In the afternoon, take the high-speed rail to Chengdu—a journey of about four hours—and check into your hotel upon arrival. In the evening, explore Kuanzhai Alley, where teahouses, Sichuan restaurants, and craft shops are artfully arranged along the old street lined with blue-gray tiles and dark-tiled roofs.
Day 8 · Chengdu
Spend the entire day touring the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. It's recommended to enter the park in the morning, when the giant pandas are most active—the cubs in the Moon and Sun Nurseries are utterly adorable, while the adult pandas in the outdoor activity area munch on bamboo and climb wooden structures, their every move endearing. In the afternoon, return to the city center to explore Jinli Ancient Street, where red lanterns hang from one end of the street to the other; the nearby Wuhou Temple is also worth visiting.
Day 9 · Chengdu
In the morning, visit the Du Fu Thatched Cottage. The poet lived here for nearly four years while in exile in Chengdu. His former thatched cottage has been restored based on his poetry; the bamboo groves and red walls lining the path are the garden's most iconic sights. Walking among them, you can sense the literary sentiment expressed in his line, "If only I had ten thousand spacious houses". In the afternoon, head to the He Ming Tea House in People's Park to enjoy a bowl of gaiwan tea while watching locals play cards and chat over tea, experiencing Chengdu's unique slow-paced lifestyle.
Day 10 · Departure from Chengdu
The morning is free for you to explore Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li—the giant panda sculpture climbing the wall at the base of the IFS building is Chengdu's most popular photo spot. Depending on your flight schedule, a private car will take you to the airport, bringing your journey to a close.
