Tour Features:

Tucked away in Sichuan Province, Langzhong Ancient City stands as a timeless treasure—a well-preserved Ming and Qing ancient city brimming with authentic local life, where the legends of the Three Kingdoms echo through its bluestone lanes and the wisdom of ancient Chinese feng shui shapes its every corner. Hailed as one of China's best-preserved ancient cities with the strongest sense of life, it was once the garrison of Zhang Fei, the famous general of the Three Kingdoms, who defended this land for 7 years. Known as "China's No.1 Feng Shui City", the ancient city is laid out according to astronomical feng shui, surrounded by mountains on all sides and water on three sides, creating a poetic and harmonious landscape. It is also the birthplace of the Spring Festival, where Luo Xiahong, an astronomer of the Western Han Dynasty, formulated the Spring Festival as we know it today. Exclusively tailored by PandaStudyTour for international tourists, this 3-day standard group tour features an extremely gentle rhythm, making it perfect for foreign family travelers to explore the city's profound culture and slow life at a relaxed pace.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Arrival + First Experience of the Ancient City + Night Feng Shui Tour

Upon arrival at Langzhong Station, take the transfer to the ancient city and check into a Chinese-style courtyard homestay in the core area of the ancient city—quiet and close to the main street. Take a short rest to adapt to the environment. In the afternoon, explore on foot with flat and easy routes: Visit Huaguang Tower (South Tower), the landmark of Langzhong, climb to the top to overlook the panoramic view of the ancient city and the bend of the Jialing River, enjoying the Ming and Qing pavilions, feng shui layout and panoramic view of the city. Wander along the main street of the ancient city: Zhuangyuanfang → Xiaxin Street → Old Lanes, admiring the bluestone roads, courtyard houses, ancient shops and local residents' daily life. Visit the Imperial Examination Hall (a well-preserved imperial examination venue from the Qing Dynasty), where you can experience the "ancient imperial examination" interaction. In the evening, have dinner with local specialties such as Zhang Fei Braised Beef, Baoning Steamed Buns and Jialing River Fish (non-spicy version available). Admire the night view of the ancient city and the Jialing River, including the lights of Huaguang Tower, red lanterns in the ancient city and river view lights.
Optional: Visit an old street teahouse at night to listen to Sichuan opera arias and experience Gaiwan Tea (traditional Chinese tea).
Notes: There are many bluestone roads; please wear flat non-slip shoes. Be careful of steps when taking photos at night.

Day 2 Three Kingdoms Culture + Feng Shui Culture + In-Depth Humanities

In the morning, visit Zhang Fei Temple (Han Huanhou Shrine), a key cultural relic protection unit in China, where Zhang Fei garrisoned and was buried in Langzhong. The guide will focus on explaining the Three Kingdoms history, Zhang Fei's life and loyalty culture. Visit Confucian Temple and Martial Temple: worship Confucius in the Confucian Temple and Zhang Fei in the Martial Temple, experiencing traditional Chinese civil and military beliefs. Visit a Feng Shui Museum / Tiangong Courtyard to learn about Langzhong's "mountains surrounding water, feng shui layout" through simple and easy-to-understand explanations, which are very easy for foreign tourists to understand. At noon, have a local meal in the ancient city: Langzhong Steamed Dishes, Tofu Dishes and Special Rice Noodles. Take a 1-hour nap to avoid the midday sun. In the afternoon, go to Jinping Mountain Observation Deck: take a car directly to the observation deck to overlook the full feng shui view of Langzhong—the real "surrounded by water on three sides and mountains on four sides", with stunning photo opportunities.
Optional: Jialing River Cruise, viewing the ancient city, White Pagoda and Jinping Mountain along the river to experience the artistic conception of a "feng shui water city". Choose one of the two intangible cultural heritage experiences: Baoning Vinegar Culture Experience or Shadow Puppetry / Northern Sichuan Folk Song Experience. In the evening, freely wander around the ancient city night market, handicraft shops and buy souvenirs. You can watch the real-scene performance of "Zhang Fei Patrolling the City" .
Highlight: Dual culture of Three Kingdoms and Feng Shui, understanding the soul of Langzhong in one day.

Day 3 Morning Slow Tour + In-Depth Old Lanes + Return

Early morning: The ancient city is almost free of tourists in the early morning; take photos of bluestone roads, old wooden doors, courtyard houses and empty lanes. Best shooting locations: Around Huaguang Tower, Xiaxin Street and North Gate of the ancient city. In the morning, optional light visit: Dafo Temple / White Pagoda Mountain—just a distant view, no climbing, easily enjoying the river view and distant view of the ancient city. Experience the local morning market: Have breakfast with Youcha (Sichuan-style sesame paste porridge), steamed buns, porridge and special pastries, feeling the real life of local people—foreign tourists love this experience. Before noon, buy souvenirs: Zhang Fei Beef, Baoning Vinegar, Steamed Buns and Handmade Candies. Check out of the homestay and pack luggage. In the afternoon, take the arranged transfer to Langzhong Station, ending the wonderful trip.
