Day 1: Arrival in Chengdu
Morning/Afternoon: Arrive at Chengdu Shuangliu/Tianfu International Airport; private transfer to city hotel (20-40 mins).
Evening: Welcome dinner featuring Sichuan cuisine (mild options available upon request) at a local restaurant. Overnight in Chengdu.
Day 2: Chengdu Panda Base & Dujiangyan Irrigation System
08:30-11:30: Visit Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base – observe pandas feeding, playing, and napping; professional English-speaking guide explains conservation efforts.
12:00-13:00: Lunch at a restaurant near the base (Western/Chinese buffet).
13:30-17:00: Day trip to Dujiangyan Irrigation System (2h drive) – UNESCO World Heritage Site, learn about 2,000-year-old water management technology; walk along the scenic Minjiang River.
17:30: Return to Chengdu; free evening to explore Jinli Ancient Street (souvenirs, local snacks). Overnight in Chengdu.
Day 3-4: Wolong National Nature Reserve (Panda Volunteer Program)
Day 3:
08:00 Depart Chengdu for Wolong (2.5h drive) with English guide.
11:00: Check in at resort near Shenshuping Panda Base.
14:00-16:00: Visit Wolong Giant Panda Museum – 6 interactive exhibition areas covering panda evolution, habitat, and conservation.
18:00: Dinner at the resort (Western/Chinese set menu). Overnight in Wolong.
Day 4:
8:00 Panda Volunteer Program orientation – change into official uniforms, safety briefing by base staff.
09:30-12:00: Hands-on activities: clean panda enclosures, prepare "wowotou" (nutritious panda cakes), transport fresh bamboo.
12:00-13:00: Lunch at the base cafeteria.
13:30-15:00: Observe panda behavior with keepers, watch conservation documentary, receive volunteer certificate.
18:00: Dinner at local family restaurant (traditional Sichuan rural dishes). Overnight in Wolong.
Day 5-6: Siguniang Mountain Alpine Adventure
Day 5: Drive to Siguniang Mountain (3h drive) – "Four Girls Mountain" with snow-capped peaks (6,250m).
11:30: Check in at mountain lodge; lunch at lodge restaurant.
13:30-17:00: Light trekking in Alpine Meadows (3km, easy-moderate difficulty) – admire wildflowers (spring) or autumn foliage, photo stops with mountain backdrops.
18:30: Dinner at lodge; stargazing session (clear skies in autumn). Overnight in Siguniang Mountain.
Day 6:
09:00: Cable car ride to Red Rock Valley Viewpoint (15 mins) – panoramic views of the four peaks.
