The Mini Terracotta Warrior Making Workshop offers a hands-on archaeological experience closely linked to the famous Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang. More than 2,200 years ago, ancient craftsmen created thousands of uniquely featured clay soldiers to guard the Qin Emperor's mausoleum. In this workshop, students learn the traditional clay sculpting techniques used by Qin Dynasty artisans. A bilingual craft instructor will first explain how the ancient workers shaped, assembled and fired the huge army of clay warriors, and share fun facts about the discovery and excavation of the archaeological site.

Every student gets natural clay materials and sculpting tools. They will knead clay, shape the warrior's body, carve facial details, hairstyles and armour patterns, and paint their finished miniature terracotta warrior. The master will walk around to offer one-on-one guidance, helping students create unique figurines. Once finished, students can take their handmade clay warrior back home as a meaningful souvenir of their China educational trip. This activity turns ancient history into a tangible creative project, helping students better understand the amazing craftsmanship of Qin Dynasty people.
PandaStudyTour manages all logistics for this terracotta warrior making workshop. We arrange professional bilingual craft instructors, workshop venue reservation, all clay and painting materials, and group transfers. We can adjust the workshop depth and difficulty for different age groups: simpler sculpting tasks for younger primary students, and more detailed historical background sharing for high school and university groups. This activity can be easily combined with a visit to the Terracotta Army Museum, forming a complete one-day Qin history themed study tour. It can be fully integrated into your Xi'an study tour, school exchange or Mandarin summer camp itinerary.
