Day 1: Zhaoxing Dong Village · Grand Song & Drum Tower Culture

Travel approximately 2 hours from Kaili South Railway Station to Zhaoxing Dong Village, the largest and most iconic Dong settlement in China. Spend the morning exploring its remarkable five drum towers, traditional wind-and-rain bridges, and stilted wooden architecture. Savor a delicious Dong-style lunch featuring sour soup fish, glutinous rice, and pickled fish. In the afternoon, join a hands-on workshop to learn the Grand Song of the Dong from heritage bearers and try traditional indigo dyeing. Wander through the village, capture photos of the picturesque grain-drying racks and pastoral scenery. In the evening, enjoy a professional Grand Song performance and a lively bonfire party with locals. Stay overnight in a cozy stilted homestay in Zhaoxing.

Day 2: Tang'an Terraces · Farming Ecology & Leisure Hiking

Depart Zhaoxing for Tang'an Dong Village, either by a short 20-minute drive or a gentle 1.5-hour hike along the famous ancient terrace trail. Enjoy sweeping views of thousand-year-old terraced fields and learn about traditional Dong farming culture. Enjoy a home-style lunch at a local family's house, featuring farm vegetables and oil tea. In the afternoon, take part in joyful rural activities such as pounding glutinous rice cakes and making flat rice. Explore ancient barns, photograph the stunning terraced landscapes, and experience peaceful village life. Return to Zhaoxing in the evening to freely explore the night market and taste local snacks. Stay another night in Zhaoxing.

Day 3: Basha Miao Village · Last Gunman Tribe + Cun Chao / Cun BA

Travel about 1.5 hours to Basha Miao Village, known as the last gunman tribe in China. Watch fascinating cultural shows including sickle hair shaving, musket displays, and lusheng dance. Try on exquisite Miao silver ornaments and try simple Miao embroidery DIY. Enjoy a genuine Miao lunch with glutinous rice, preserved pork, and wild vegetables. In the afternoon, drive around 1 hour to Rongjiang or Taijiang to watch the famous Village Super League (football) or Village BA (basketball), where visitors are welcome to interact and even join friendly matches. In the evening, experience a grand long-table banquet featuring the exciting "high mountain flowing water" toasting tradition. Stay overnight in a boutique hotel in Rongjiang County.

Day 4: Danzhai · Intangible Heritage Batik & Departure

Drive approximately 1.5 hours from Rongjiang to Danzhai Wanda Town, a hub of ethnic craftsmanship. Spend the morning engaging in national-level intangible cultural heritage experiences: ancient papermaking and traditional batik, with your handmade artwork to take home as a souvenir. Explore the heritage blocks and the birdcage art village. Enjoy a satisfying lunch of Kaili sour soup hot pot. After a fulfilling four-day ethnic adventure, transfer about 1 hour back to Kaili South Railway Station for your onward journey.
