Beijing Normal University is a key university directly under the Ministry of Education's "Double First Class", "985 Project", and "211 Project" programs. Its predecessor was the Beijing Normal University Normal Hall, founded in 1902. In 1923, it was renamed Beijing Normal University and became the first normal university in China. The main campus is located in Beijing, with three major campuses in Haidian, Xicheng, and Changping, as well as a Zhuhai campus, forming a "one body, two wings" educational pattern. With a focus on teacher education, educational science, and basic liberal arts disciplines, there are currently over 24000 full-time students and more than 3000 faculty members, including top scholars such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering.
