Destinations: Beijing
This compact 5-day Beijing study tour is carefully designed for international school groups seeking a focused, curriculum-aligned China learning experience set in the nation’s capital. Students begin with an orientation session covering safety rules, learning objectives and journal tasks after airport arrival. Over the following days, they carry out inquiry-based field studies across Beijing’s most significant heritage and cultural sites.
The itinerary covers iconic landmarks: Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, Jingshan Park and nearby hutong neighbourhoods to study imperial architecture, central-axis planning and contrasting urban living spaces. Students hike the Mutianyu Great Wall to examine ancient military engineering and heritage conservation, then visit the Beijing Olympic Museum to discuss sustainable event design and Olympic legacy. The Temple of Heaven session reveals ancient Chinese cosmology and ritual thinking, followed by a hands-on Traditional Chinese Medicine workshop where students identify herbs and make their own herbal sachet to keep.
Throughout the programme, a dedicated lead educator facilitates guided discussions and learning journal work. The trip balances famous sightseeing with interactive cultural workshops, supporting learning in history, architecture, philosophy and heritage studies. The tour concludes with departure arrangements on Day 5.
