QSI Silk Road

The Silk Road was an ancient overland trade route that began in Chang'an (today's Xi'an), the ancient capital and political, economic, and cultural center of China, and connected Asia, Africa, and Europe. It crossed the Longshan Mountains, passed through the Hexi Corridor, went through the Yumen and Yang Passes to reach Xinjiang, and then traveled along oases and across the Pamir Plateau through Central Asia, West Asia, and North Africa, finally arriving in Africa and Europe. It was also a major route for economic, political, and cultural exchange between the East and the West. On this trip, the children from QSI retraced the Silk Road, enjoying the beautiful scenery along the way and forging deep friendships with one another.
