This all-in-Xi'an winter immersion camp is built for international students eager to unlock the stories of Qin and Tang dynasties in China's most famous ancient capital. Winter brings fewer crowds and a serene, solemn atmosphere to Xi’an’s world heritage sites, making it ideal for deep historical learning rather than rushed sightseeing. Students will step into the grand underground army of the Terracotta Army, cycle along the ancient city wall, explore royal Tang palaces and visit top-tier museums filled with relics spanning thousands of years. The program blends guided site lectures, on-site worksheet assignments, traditional craft workshops and local food culture exploration. Beyond textbook history, students learn how ancient Chinese empires built cities, governed armies, developed art and traded along the Silk Road. Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Xi’an & Winter Camp Opening Orientation Arrive at Xi’an airport, private transfer and hotel check-in. Complete camp registration, winter cold weather safety briefing and orientation. Opening ceremony introduces the history of Chang’an, camp learning objectives and group division. Students receive study journals, winter site guides and pre-reading materials about Qin and Tang dynasties.

Day 2: Bell & Drum Towers, City Wall & Old Town Exploration Morning guided tour of Bell and Drum Towers, learn ancient Chinese timekeeping and city planning concepts. Students complete observation worksheet about ancient urban design. Afternoon hike and bike on the ancient Xi’an City Wall, observe the layout of the old city. Evening walk in the Muslim Quarter, taste local winter snacks and document local food culture.

Day 3: Terracotta Army & Lishan National Heritage Site Full Day Full-day field study to the Terracotta Army Museum. English educator explains Qin military system, sculpture technology and archaeological discovery. Students watch relic restoration demonstration and complete on-site research tasks. Visit the Mausoleum Park of Qin Shi Huang. Evening group reflection session discussing the scale and meaning of the Qin Empire.

Day 4: Shaanxi History Museum & Calligraphy Workshop Morning deep dive at Shaanxi History Museum, trace civilization development from prehistory through Zhou, Qin, Han and Tang dynasties. Students analyze representative artifacts and record notes in journals. Afternoon Chinese calligraphy workshop, learn brush techniques and the evolution of Chinese characters.

Day 5: Giant Wild Goose Pagoda & Tang Culture Immersion Morning study tour of Giant Wild Goose Pagoda, learn Silk Road religious and cultural exchange during Tang Dynasty. Afternoon Hanfu dressing experience and Tang architectural study. Evening visit Tang-themed cultural block, watch traditional performances and observe modern interpretation of ancient Tang aesthetics.

Day 6: Mini Terracotta Figurine Workshop & Project Preparation Morning hands-on workshop: students knead clay and craft their own small terracotta warrior under heritage craftsman guidance. Afternoon guided group work, prepare final presentation about what they learned of Qin and Tang civilizations.

Day 7: Closing Ceremony, Achievement Sharing & Departure Student group cultural presentation and learning summary. Award official Winter Camp completion certificates. Closing feedback session. Private airport transfer for departure.
