City: Guilin
The Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo is the world-famous natural gallery of karst mountains, the perfect open-air geology classroom for international youth groups. Your group will take a traditional bamboo raft instead of large tourist cruise ships, drifting along the clear green water amid steep limestone peaks. Our English-speaking geology guide will explain how millions of years of water erosion created the karst peaks, underground caves and river valleys you see all along the river.

During the rafting trip, students will observe the layered rock texture, identify different limestone formations, and look for the exact viewpoint of the 20 RMB banknote landscape at Xingping. We prepare simple field observation tasks: sketch mountain shapes, record water quality, and discuss how river water shapes the landscape. After the rafting, we walk along the riverside fishing villages to watch cormorant fishing, a traditional fishing method passed down for generations along the Li River.
PandaStudyTour takes care of the whole logistics. We book bamboo raft tickets, arrange professional bilingual geology instructors, design safe walking routes and prepare student field worksheets. This karst study programme can be combined with cave exploration or countryside cycling. It fits perfectly into your Guilin study tour, school exchange or Mandarin summer camp, letting overseas students turn textbook geography knowledge into real field discovery.
