City: Guangzhou
Xpeng is a leading Chinese new energy vehicle brand, famous for intelligent driving systems and smart manufacturing. Its Guangzhou factory adopts Industry 4.0 standards, where large numbers of industrial robots complete welding, assembly and painting work. Compared with traditional car factories, the workshop greatly reduces manual labour and improves production precision and consistency. The factory represents the rapid rise of the new energy vehicle industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, a key global hub for electric vehicle research and manufacturing.

During the pre-approved factory visit, students first attend a safety briefing and wear required visitor gear. Professional bilingual technical commentators will introduce the whole production workflow. Students observe robotic arms working synchronously on the assembly line, learn about lithium battery technology, vehicle chassis design, intelligent cockpit and autonomous driving systems. The commentator will explain the whole industrial chain from parts manufacturing to finished vehicle testing, and share the market development of new energy vehicles in China and around the world.
For overseas STEM student groups, this is an excellent real-world classroom. Students can connect textbook knowledge of automation, mechanical engineering and battery technology with real industrial production. They can compare modern intelligent manufacturing with ancient handicraft industries in Guangzhou, understanding the evolution of Guangzhou’s manufacturing capacity from Maritime Silk Road export porcelain to modern EV production. Students can take notes and use what they learn for their group research reports.
PandaStudyTour submits factory visit applications, completes safety training and arranges professional bilingual technical guides in advance. We set up observation zones for student groups to guarantee safety while maintaining good viewing experience. This factory visit can be combined with Nansha automated port and GAC Science & Technology Museum, forming a complete Greater Bay Area intelligent manufacturing study itinerary.
