City: Yunnan
A Peking Duck dinner is always a highlight of Beijing study tours for foreign student groups, offering a taste of imperial Chinese culinary culture. In Yunnan, PandaStudyTour designs unforgettable ethnic food experiences, combining guided tasting and hands-on cooking classes, giving overseas students the chance to discover the rich, diverse flavors of southwest China's minority cultures.

In Kunming, we host the Yunnan Roast Duck & Cross-Bridge Rice Noodles Cooking Class. Students learn how to prepare Yunnan-style roast duck and the famous cross-bridge rice noodles, creating a signature Yunnan dining experience comparable to the classic Peking Duck dinner in Beijing. The cooking session explains the legends behind cross-bridge rice noodles and the local ingredients used in Yunnan cuisine.
In Dali’s Xizhou Village, groups enjoy Bai Ethnic Farm Meal DIY. Students visit rural wet markets to select fresh ingredients, then head to the farm to pick seasonal vegetables and cook authentic Bai farm dishes together with local villagers. This farm-to-table experience helps students understand the connection between local agriculture and ethnic food culture.
Xishuangbanna features Dai Bamboo Tube Rice & Banana Leaf Feast. Students learn to cook bamboo sticky rice and traditional Dai dishes wrapped in banana leaves. They then sit down to enjoy a tropical ethnic feast, a complete contrast to the imperial-style cuisine of Beijing.
In Pu'er, we arrange Pu'er Ancient Tea Mountain Tea Roasting. Students pick fresh tea leaves in ancient tea forests, sun-dry and hand-roast raw tea, and taste freshly brewed ancient mountain tea while learning the history of the Tea-Horse Road.
Seasonally, groups can try the famous Wild Mushroom Hot Pot Feast, one of Yunnan’s most iconic culinary experiences. Local instructors introduce different edible wild mushrooms, explain foraging knowledge and safety rules before the group enjoys the hot pot meal.
PandaStudyTour manages all food experience logistics: market visit arrangements, cooking venue setup, local chefs, ingredient preparation and safety briefings. We can accommodate dietary restrictions including vegetarian, halal and nut-free requests. Food activities can be scheduled as standalone day events or combined with village visits and school exchange programs.
Let PandaStudyTour design a flavorful Yunnan culinary journey for your international student group.
