6-Day Harbin Snow Village & Northeast Rural Folk Immersion Winter Camp

6-Day Harbin Snow Village & Northeast Rural Folk Immersion Winter Camp

Destinations: Stay in snow village farmhouses, learn folk handicrafts, taste local food

Tour Features:

This immersive rural folk culture camp brings international students away from the city bustle to the famous China Snow Village, a mountain farming community blanketed in thick snow every winter, to experience authentic Northeast Chinese countryside life. Unlike short tourist visits, students will live inside local farm courtyards, sleep on traditional heated kang beds, join local families in daily winter chores and take part in generations-old folk customs. Students learn how farmers adapt to long, harsh winters: food preservation, house heating, seasonal handicrafts and winter leisure traditions. The program includes hands-on activities such as making candied hawthorn, paper cutting, learning Northeast folk songs and yangko dance, riding horse-drawn sleighs through snow forests and watching bonfire performances at night. Students also learn about local ecology, forest management and the balance between traditional rural life and modern winter tourism development. Through family home visits, daily field journals and cultural sharing, students gain genuine insight into rural Chinese culture, northern agricultural wisdom and the social changes transforming countryside communities in Northeast China.
