This 7-day two-capital study tour compares two golden ages of China: Tang Dynasty in Luoyang and Song Dynasty in Kaifeng. Students explore Tang imperial relics, grotto art and Heluo culture in Luoyang first, then travel to Kaifeng, the capital of Northern Song Dynasty. They walk through the world of Along the River During the Qingming Festival, experience Song-era daily life, study ancient urban planning, and compare Tang grand imperial style vs Song refined civilian culture. This itinerary works wonderfully for world history and art history classes.

Day2: Erlitou Site Museum & Luoyang Museum Study the origin of Chinese civilization and early bronze culture. Overnight Luoyang.
Day3: Longmen Grottoes & White Horse Temple Full day exploring Buddhist art and early religion in Tang Luoyang. Overnight Luoyang.
