This technology-focused winter camp targets international students passionate about science, engineering, digital innovation and sustainable urban development. Shanghai is China’s leading innovation hub, home to high-tech parks, top universities, advanced aerospace and smart manufacturing industries, offering abundant real-world classroom resources for young global learners. Away from crowded peak tourist seasons, winter allows longer in-depth enterprise visits and more Q&A time with engineers and researchers. Students will explore world-class science museums, visit Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park, tour Fudan or Shanghai Jiao Tong University campus and laboratories, and learn about smart city technology, new energy and aerospace innovation. The program integrates museum interactive experiments, enterprise site observation, university peer exchange and group design challenges. Students will collaborate in teams to create an urban innovation project, developing critical thinking, teamwork and global technology vision while understanding how China balances rapid technological progress with sustainable urban planning.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Shanghai Arrival & STEAM Camp Opening Briefing Airport pickup and hotel check-in. Winter safety briefing and introduction to Shanghai’s tech ecosystem. Opening ceremony introduces camp innovation theme, team grouping and project assignment. Distribute STEAM workbook and daily research tasks.

Day 2: Shanghai Astronomy Museum & Natural History Museum Morning deep exploration of Shanghai Astronomy Museum. Students experience immersive space exhibits, learn about astronomical observation and deep-space exploration, complete physics and astronomy worksheets. Afternoon visit Shanghai Natural History Museum to study evolution, earth science and ecological protection. Evening group discussion on science communication.

Day 3: University Campus Tour & Academic Exchange Visit Fudan University or Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Tour campus libraries, student activity zones and selected research laboratories. Join exchange seminars with local university students to discuss university life, scientific research paths and youth innovation in China. Students prepare interview questions and take notes for their final project.

Day 4: Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park & High-Tech Enterprise Visit Full-day field study at Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. Visit AI, biomedicine or smart manufacturing enterprises. Professional engineers introduce product R&D workflows, industrial innovation and future technology trends. Students observe production lines and join Q&A sessions with technical specialists.

Day 5: STEAM Group Innovation Workshop & Project Polishing Mentor-led group design workshop. Teams work on smart-city innovation projects, brainstorm solutions for urban environmental or transportation challenges, build simple prototypes and prepare presentation slides. Teachers offer one-on-one guidance for project logic and presentation skills.

Day 6: Project Showcase, Closing & Departure STEAM project presentation and team defense. Judges evaluate creativity, research depth and teamwork. Award innovation certificates and camp completion awards. Closing summary and feedback collection. Airport transfer for departure.
