City: Luoyang
Shaolin Temple on Song Mountain is the home of Chinese Zen (Chan) Buddhism and Shaolin Kung Fu, combining religion, martial arts and traditional Chinese philosophy, only a short drive from Luoyang city. This cross-culture study tour lets international youth experience the integration of body and mind in traditional Chinese culture.

The group first tours the ancient temple complex: the Mahavira Hall, the Thousand-Buddha Hall and the Forest of Steles. Our bilingual culture tutor explains how Chan Buddhism came to China and merged with martial arts training. The core activity is a professional Kung Fu class with local Shaolin masters: students learn basic stances, boxing routines and simple self-defence movements. We also arrange a short Chan meditation session to teach students how ancient monks used martial arts and meditation to cultivate both body and spirit. After the training, you can watch a wonderful live Shaolin martial arts performance by young monk disciples.
PandaStudyTour organises round-trip coach transport from Luoyang, pre-books temple entry and Kung Fu training venues, arranges bilingual martial arts coaches and cultural interpreters. We design low-intensity training for younger students and more advanced routines for teenagers and adults. This Kung Fu cultural programme can be added as a one-day extension to your Luoyang study tour, offering overseas visitors a firsthand taste of Chinese martial arts culture.
