Destinations: Learn alpine skiing from certified coaches, study cold-climate sports science
This winter sports and science camp combines Harbin's ice city culture with Yabuli, China's most famous ski resort and host of major Asian Winter Games events, perfect for international students interested in physical education, sports science and outdoor adventure. Beyond basic ski training, this program treats the entire trip as a cold-climate classroom. Students learn sports physiology for low-temperature environments, ski resort infrastructure design, snowmaking technology, mountain ecology and winter risk management. The journey starts in Harbin to experience the urban ice festival and multicultural city culture, then transfers to Yabuli for multi-day systematic ski lessons. Certified professional coaches deliver beginner-friendly ski training, focusing on posture, braking and safe mountain travel. Students also take part in team snow challenges, learn cold-weather first aid, and explore how winter sports shape local tourism economy and environmental conservation. Through daily reflection journals and a final group project, students connect athletic practice with scientific thinking while building resilience, teamwork and confidence in extreme cold winter conditions.
