Guizhou Village Super League Tour | Rongjiang Cun Chao Study Tour
Rongjiang County, widely known as the home of China's viral Village Super League (Cun Chao, dubbed the grassroots World Cup from Chinese villages), lies in the southern part of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture in southeastern Guizhou, Southwest China. The county gets its name from ancient banyan trees and three converging rivers flowing through the county seat Guzhou Town, where the Cun Chao football stadium is located. Nestled in karst mountain valleys, it belongs to the watershed divide of the Yangtze and Pearl River systems, boasting lush forests and pleasant subtropical humid climate.
The famous Village Super League kicked off here in May 2023. It is fully organised by local villagers, with players being ordinary farmers, shop owners, teachers and students rather than professional footballers. During match days, audiences can enjoy authentic folk performances such as Dong Grand Chorus and Miao Lusheng dance alongside football games. The league has grown into a cross-cultural exchange event attracting visitors and football lovers globally.
